What is an Angel?

 

An angel is a supernatural being or spirit you most likely heard spoken about in various religions and mythologies.  They are often depicted as benevolent celestial beings interceding between Heaven and Earth, for human beings as guardian spirits.  They protect us, direct and guide us and help us in every area of our lives.

An Archangel is angel of high rank.  Beings similar to archangels are found in a number of religious traditions; but archangels are usually associated with the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.  They govern the other angels.

 

The actual number of Angels and Archangels that exist today varies, depending on the source.  There are at least as many heavenly spiritual beings in existence as there are earthly beings, so I suppose that there are hundreds of thousands of millions of angels and archangels working around us daily, tirelessly.   This selection contains the names of the Archangels I have had the pleasure of working with, along with the prayers I use to communicate with them.  

Angels/Archangels are not glorified human beings.  They do not reproduce or marry like humans.  They are messengers that God sends from heaven to help us while we are in this physical realm, with every issue, situation, concern and/or circumstance in every area and all aspects of our lives, no matter what that may be.  Since they do not have physical bodies as we do, they are not confined to being in one place at one time.  Therefore, any angel/archangel can be in New Jersey helping several different people and then across the world in Alaska helping another group of people, simultaneously.  They do not live in this limited time, space and reality that some of us choose to live in.  (Note: Time does not exist.  I will talk about time in another section later.)   They are unlimited beings and so are we if we choose to be.  Anyone can talk to, hear and see angels.  The easiest way to do this is to begin a daily practice of communicating with your own angels.  Everyone has at least two watching over them, called guardian angels.  As your relationships with yourself and your angels grow, the easier it will become for you to hear the messages from God and Heaven that are specifically for you.  Once you do begin communicating with them, you will know that they are there, because you will feel their presence, whether you can hear or see them yet or not.  Remember you are not praying to an angel, you are simply asking God to send you a helper and that's just what Angels are, helpers to us spiritual beings having these physical experiences.

 

If you would like more in depth information on angels, there many wonderful Angel Practitioners and Experts out there; my favorite is Doreen Virtue.  She has a lot of books that cover Angels and how to work with them.  She also offers angel oracle cards, which are similar to tarot cards, but a little gentler, for those who are sensitive like me.  I have found her angel books to be informative and her cards to be extremely accurate and very helpful.  I have been following her for years.
